Cello Lessons

Cello lessons are given in the Lancaster, PA area. If you are outside of this area, consider Skype lessons! While there are many learning opportunities on YouTube, etc, there is nothing like the feedback of a private teacher who is experienced in all areas of cello technique.

Laurie loves teaching standard cello technique as well as improvisation. From beginning levels to advanced levels, from traditional cello technique and repertoire, Laurie can help you progress every step of the way. She has given workshops and classes in basic cello technique as well as improvisation.

Adult Students

Adult beginners are a special interest of hers. If you’ve been waiting for something special in your life — take up the cello!

Brief Educational Background

Laurie earned a Master of Music Performance degree in Cello Performance at USC in Los Angeles, where she studied with the Grand Dame of Cello, Eleanor Schoenfeld.  While earning her Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Laurie studied with Eugene Eicher. Laurie formerly taught at Lebanon Valley College (Adjunct Instructor of Cello), Messiah College (Adjunct Artist, Cello), and F&M College (Adjunct Professor of Cello). She taught courses including String Methods, History of Music, Theory and Pedagogy. She was an Artist-in-Residence (Wyndfall) with the PA Council on the Arts, where she went into many schools and gave residencies on the creative process in music.
